SC: We have met you twice recently at high profile events and you are always so kind and courteous and well mannered. How are you able to always have such a friendly persona in your hectic World?
CL: I truly believe that being considerate of others is at the heart of charm and grace. Also, I take good care of myself and get enough rest, eat well and exercise daily which really helps me keep a positive attitude.
SC: We keep hearing your new single wherever we go and it is so catchy! How did this new project come about and do you have plans to release any more songs?
CL: I’ve always loved to sing. When I was a little girl, I used to sing in front of the mirror holding my hairbrush as the microphone. When I met my music producer, the uber talented Izzy Gold, his enthusiasm convinced me that there was no better time than the present to realize my musical dreams and we wrote my first dance single, Money Can’t Buy You Class. After we finished the song, dance powerhouse Ultra Records signed me to their label and I’m now working on my next release! I’m making my dreams a reality and it feels really great.
SC: Many of our readers are big fans of the New York housewives show. Can you tell us a little bit about your experiences on the show?
CL: Since we are now shooting Season Four of the Real Housewives of New York City, I’m much more comfortable in front of the camera and have developed a rapport with my cast mates. I’ve tried to remain neutral in the friendships of my fellow housewives while at the same time giving my point of view. Overall, I’ve loved the experience of being on the show and am looking forward to making Season Four the best season yet.
SC: You have a wonderful man in your life now. How does he cope with your fame?
CL: My boyfriend Jacques is very comfortable with himself so coping with my fame is not difficult for him. He loves it when my fans approach me for pictures or autographs and is always gracious to them. He’s proud of me.
SC: Society’s Choice is very involved in helping raise awareness and money for many Charities. Are you involved in any Charities?
CL: I volunteer for and support the ACE Partnership in NYC, which was founded by my good friend Henry Buhl. ACE rebuilds lives of men and women struggling with homelessness. Through Project Comeback, ACE provides comprehensive vocational rehabilitation to help program participant’s transition to full-time employment. Project Stay offers ongoing aftercare to support the program graduates as they work to achieve long term economic self-sufficiency. I also support the American Cancer Society (ACS) and am donating a portion of the profits from my song Money Can’t Buy You Class to them.
SC: Society’s Choice stages many events. How do you decide which events to go to as you are so busy?
CL: I am very organized and prioritize my events according to the needs of my family and then by the impact the event will have on the organizations I support, like ACE or ACS. I also prioritize events that are hosted by my close friends.
SC: Everything seems to be going so well for you at the moment! How do you see your life in the next few years?
CL: If the next few years are as happy, healthy and as interesting as right now, I’ll be a very contented woman. I plan to work on my music, continue to work in television and am even considering joining the cast of a Broadway show! Also, my children will be heading off to college in the next few years so I will have to adjust to having them gone during the school year.
SC: Finally what message can you tell the thousands of Society’s Choice readers who follow you and enjoy your show?
CL: The best message I can give to your readers is that if you don’t believe in yourself, no one else will. Life is about change and trying new things and stepping out of your comfort zone. Being interested is what makes you interesting.
